The Out Line was created by Brendan and Kyle Ranson-Walsh, brothers who grew up with gay dads (and a not-gay mom!) in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. Kyle started his journey as the biggest tomboy on the block, came out as a lesbian in high school, and then came out again when he transitioned. Brendan, the younger brother, has been gay as long as anyone can remember. The Out Line documents their love for queer culture.

Brendan, is a writer, director, & choreographer. While earning his bachelor's degree from the University of the Arts, he toured North America with the acclaimed musical CatsHis debut short film Cologne explores a man's understanding of self through dance, drag and the soul-stirring music of Dolly Parton. The short screened at festivals around the world and was named “Most Innovative” by the 2013 Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. As he continues to work on independent projects, he serves as a communications and public relations executive for a Fortune 300 company.

Kyle is an independent producer & creative strategist. As an undergrad at the University of Virginia, he founded the state’s first collegiate LGBT Resource Center. For a decade, he had the pleasure of working on many films at Pixar Animation Studios (Ratatouille, WALL-E, UP, Cars 2 and the The Blue Umbrella) and is particularly proud of producing "It Gets Better" — Love, PixarHe continues to partner with Umbrella director Saschka Unseld under their Madly in Love label. In addition to his film work, he earned his MBA in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts.
